BYA Kids Dog Show 2012

BIRMINGHAM YOUTH ASSISTANCE WILL CROWN A MASCOT DURING THEIR 31ST ANNUAL KIDS DOG SHOW

Birmingham Youth Assistance announces their Pounds for Pets Contest, a challenge aimed at generating pet food donations for area pet owners in need. The pooch behind the most poundage will be named The Official BYA 50th Anniversary BowWow Mascot during the 31st Annual BYA Kids Dog Show.
Contestants vying for a chance to win can bring in any pet food donation during the BYA Kids Dog Show, which will be held in the Berkshire Middle School Gym on Sunday, February 12 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Berkshire Middle School is located at 21707 West 14 Mile Road in Beverly Hills.

Pet food donations will be handled during the event by The Birmingham Pet Pantry, which will be stationed outside the gymnasium. The Birmingham Pet Pantry will weigh the donations and issue an official Contest Entry Form. The winner will be announced during the Kids Dog Show awards ceremony. You do not need to be entered in the Kids Dog Show to participate in the Pounds for Pets contest, but you must be present to win.

The Official BYA 50th Anniversary BowWow Mascot will be fitted with a custom jacket and invited to make celebrity guest appearances at all of the 2012 Birmingham Youth Assistance events including Breakfast with Santa, Touch A Truck, Day on the Town, the Village Fair and the BYA 50th Anniversary Concert In the Park.

The Kids Dog Show features over 100 children between the ages of 4-14 competing with their dogs in categories such as Best Costume, Best Behaved, Best Trick, Most Personality, Smallest Dog, Largest Dog and Best Looking. Any child that attends a public or private school within the Birmingham Public School District can compete by submitting a registration form to BYA by February 8th.
